Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When is the best time to arrange a trial for my wedding day hair & makeup?

A: I would recommend one to two months before the big day, so you have plenty of time to address any problems that may emerge from the trial run. You should not book a trial so far in advance that you forget your styling or start getting indecisive about what you have gone for!

Q: What products are used?

A: I use top quality products from a variety of well-known brand names such as Mac, Christian Dior, Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal, Stila and Chanel

Q. How can i prepare my hair for my wedding day?

A I recommend you get your hair cut and coloured either with myself or in your regular salon before the trial, for various hair up's, we can discuss how the haircut needs to be shaped for the hair-up to last. If you are wearing your hair down it's important to have a strong shape within your haircut, even if you have long hair otherwise the Ghd or tonging will not last as long on your day. You don't have to grow your hair either - I can use human hair wefts or extensions to give your hair extra volume. Most celebrities you see have hair wefts added or hair extensions to give their hair volume. You can order them after the trial. It's important to have washed your hair on the morning or night before using a good quality shampoo and conditioner - you can use your own or i'll be happy to recommend the best fit for your hair type when you have your trial. If you are having your hair blow-dried have it wet for our arrival.

Q. Do I or my guests wash my hair on the morning of the wedding?

A:If you are having your hair blow dryed wash your hair and have it wet for our arrival. If having a put up if possible wash hair the night before.

Q. Hair extensions & wefts?

A. If you'd like extra volume or length on your big day & beyond then be assured I only use the finest quality human hair products, sourced from www.balmainhair.com whether it's a total transformation or a few dramatic highlights to accentuate a stylish new cut, hair extensions offer you a breathtaking range of possibilities!

Q. Can I bring my own hair & make-up products for you to use?

A. Yes you can & I will be happy to combine your preferred products with others we agree on the day. I do ask that you bring your own mascara from a hygiene perspective. I also offer an airbrush www.airbasemakeup.com this contains vitamins A&E, is a natural antioxidant, has a luxurious feel, is heat & water resistant, reduces the appearance of fine lines, does not clog pores and moisturises and repairs to provide a natural long-lasting finish - the celebrity choice!!

Q: Should I wash my hair on the day?

A: We prefer all hair to be washed the day before the wedding as this allows your hair to re-settle. However many brides find it impossible to go to their wedding with what they think is "dirty" hair and will want to wash it no matter what. As long as your hair is dry and in a natural state we will be able to complete your styling.

Q: How can one person do all the styling in time to get us to the wedding?

A: At your trial your consultant will determine the quantity of work and the time required for your wedding day makeover. If the work is more than she is able to do in the time allowed, a second make-up artist and stylist will join me.

Q: What about the mothers and my bridesmaids?

A: Bridal Hair & Beauty offers a service to all who require it and are happy to provide services to everyone - male or female - older or younger.

Q: I would like to have a tan on my wedding day. What do you recommend?

A: It is advisable to have a patch test of the product you want to use several weeks before your wedding to ensure it is suitable for your skin. The actual tanning session should be carried out a day or two before the wedding to allow the tan to develop and to ensure that there is no residue left on the skin that could taint your dress.

Q How can I secure my wedding date in your diary?

A: You can secure a date in our diary on receipt of a £50 deposit. Most brides prefer to secure their booking just after the trial in order to avoid disappointment.

Q What if I need to re-touch my make-up during the day?

A: Your make-up will be applied using professional techniques and good quality products, all of which will help your make-up stay on. However, if you would like to purchase the products used at your trial run either for touch-ups on the day itself or for future use, an entire range of wedding quality products is available for purchase in our website shop.

Q: I am not a bride. Can I still book you for beauty services?

A: Yes. We will come to you for any special occasion - you do not have to be a bride. You may be a wedding guest, going to an important function or a grand ball. Whatever the occasion, we can cater for you.
